Long before “Project Runway” mainstreamed the world of high fashion, art teacher E. Vincent Martinez launched Grady High School’s first fashion design program. As director of the UrbanCouture (UC) program, Martinez helps more than 100 students become designers who are capable of transforming fabric into a dynamic fashion line. Martinez also helps students focus on giving back to the community through popular events like “Feed the Models, Save the World,” a national campaign for EDIN, and with an annual pet fashion fundraiser appropriately tagged "Doggies on the Catwalk" where his top designers create stylish outfits for local celebrities and their dogs. This 2007 Teacher of the Year launched a fashion, style and art blog this summer called fashionado. This latest project promises engaging stories and interesting interviews, which are posted weekly. www.fashionado.net and http://twitter.com/fashionadostyle
