As a meteorologist, I have enjoyed talking about the weather with folks across the county for over 2 decades. Originally from Columbus, GA I graduated from the University of Georgia in 1985 and went on to forecast the weather in Columbus, Houston, Phoenix, San Francisco, and at The Weather Channel. It has been almost 30 years since I have taken a dance class. As a teenager I loved singing and dancing in musicals at the Springer Opera house in Columbus and at The Crystal Pistol Theatre at Six Flags over Georgia. After being crowned Miss Georgia 1985, I enjoyed performing song and dance numbers in pageants across our state as well as at Miss America in Atlantic City. (A fun fact: Cathy Lee Gifford hosted Miss America that year...love her...still a fan!) After passing on the Miss Georgia crown, I toured with a USO entertainment tour visiting troops in Korea, Japan Guam, Johnson Island and Hawaii. Visiting military installations across the Pacific was such an eye opening experience that it instilled a deep feeling of patriotism for our country and appreciation for those who choose to serve.

After returning from the orient, I traveled to Houston to study weather and covered big Texas sized thunderstorms on-air at KRIV-Fox 26. Then it was on to the Valley of the Sun at KTVK to chase monsoon storms and haboobs...it takes a lot of Endust to clean up after those! Next it was on to KPIX in San Francisco, as Chief Meteorologist I tracked weather systems that slammed into the West coast for the evening newscasts. Then I came home to Georgia where at The Weather Channel I have been able to forecast the crazy extremes we have experienced as a nation the last few years. Recently I have taken up competing in cycling and triathlons. In September, I swam in icy Lake Tahoe for Iron Girl to celebrate a big birthday milestone (let me tell ya... that tightens the pores) and in October the Lake Lanier Triathlon provided a venue closer to home. I am not a natural athlete so all those hours of training have really challenged my level of fitness.

Dancing challenges your fitness level in a whole different way which sure can help enhance a healthy lifestyle! So after spending time many years in TV newsrooms, I am thrilled to return to the stage and put on my dancing shoes to help support EDIN in the Celebrity Dance Challenge.
